Facebook Commenting for Joomla sites!

After a bit of playing around with Joomla and the Facebook Connect API I have successfully integrated the Facebook Commenting system into the Article view!

What this means is your visitors will not need to signup to your site to post a comment, you are saving bandwidth (using Facebook's bandwidth instead), and it vastly increases the patronage possibilities for your sites!

I am releasing it for FREE, however please do take note of the donation box in the top left-ish area. It is there for the honest souls who find this useful and can spare upwards of $5 to show their appreciation.

Installing jwFacebook Comments

Firstly, install the file (via Joomla Admin) called plugin_install.zip, the plugin will now be installed and deactivated.

Secondly, upload the xd_receiver.htm file somewhere it will be accessible on the same domain name.

In Joomla Admin, open the settings for the Facebook Comments plugin - Set your API key and Base path to the xd_receiver.htm file (there is an example using the '/' base path already).

You will need to edit your Facebook Application (if you have not already created it too).

Go the Developers section and open the Settings to your application.

Make sure you have the API key right in the Plugin settings.

Click on the Connect tab in Facebook App Settings. For base domain, enter the domain or subdomain of the site you are installing the Facebook Comments plugin for (e.g jwarlock.com will cover subdomain.jwarlock.com too)

Stylesheet Template

If you take a look at the CSS file that I have put together for this site (http://jwarlock.com/media/wall.css) - the rules for everything you need to style can be found there (with some brief explanations of them all)
